6th Annual Pickamania

Silver City loves it's citizens. That's the only explanation I can find for our fabulous music festivals that are free to the public. Silver City's 6th Annual Pickamania is a mountain haven for Bluegrass and traditional music fans.

Sarah Jarosz plays Pickamania on Saturday, Sept. 13 in Gough Park. The Festival runs Sept. 12-14th in Silver City, New Mexico.
Headlining the event are the critically acclaimed Grammy nominated folk artist Sarah Jarosz playing on Saturday and the fabulous Grammy nominated Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys serving up some kickin' cajun music on Sunday.

The venue is Gough Park, in downtown Silver City. Festival-goers can buy food, enjoy the beer
garden, or shop local artists and vendors between sets. The Mimbres Region Arts Council (MRAC) has assembled a festival FAQ for first-time festival goers. Since it's an outdoor festival, be prepared for the weather; I recommend sunscreen and dressing in layers.

This is a great place to see some incredible musicians, and don't you dare limit yourself to the main acts! Tucson area band, Run Boy Run, has been making waves recently with their masterful instrumental playing, engaging stage presence, and gorgeous sung harmonies. The Fishtank Ensemble is an eclectic and danceable high energy gypsy fusion group.

The Mimbres Arts website has the complete lineup and schedule.
